Poet & I

 My dearest readers,

It is my birthday today, i do not usually announce such things but i wanted to share  this photograph taken by the lovely Julie of Tiger in a Jar. This is Poet ( not her birth name). Although i thought along with this image i would share a bit of our story, i am not ready- it is not time. There is a lot of hope, that soon i will be able too.

So much has been given to me, a year ago on this day i received bad news after bad. A year later i see why, and i am so very happy.

Poet is the love of my life and that i get to share this day with her and every minute of every other day, well i am the luckiest,  i can hardly see the keys as i type. She is everything and i see everything in her.

I am so happy to see a post from you! I've thought a lot of you lately...it's been obvious you have a wonderful story waiting to be told.

I hope it's what I think it is...you've left little clues in your words. I can tell in these words that you are filled with love and happiness.

Please don't wait so long to come back and tell us the rest. Your words always shake my heart up.

Oh I've been waiting and hoping that this was the announcement you would make! She is gorgeous, you look so lovely and happy together, I don't know you but I'm tearing up right now.

Pinch her chubby legs for me!

Oh, Nadia--beautiful photo. Beautiful baby. It's your story to tell, but I'm feeling greedy for it. Happiest of birthdays (we share a birth month, the loveliest in my opinion--mine was yesterday). Much love from one who doesn't know you but follows your dreamy life with affection. xo

Dear Friend,
I feel like wishing you a happy day would be luke warm. I can't imagine anything I could wish you that would make you happier than what is in your arms now. You are in my thoughts and I am so glad to have met you. Today my teens are having teen moments. ARGH! I hope one day you will share poets teen moments. For now, just love!!

How wonderful! My birthday was the 14th, by the way.

I had a feeling you were hiding a baby from us, and she is evermore adorable! We have something in common ... I'm an adoptive mother, as well. I know the gush of emotions that only adoptive mothers know whenever they peer into the face of their little one, knowing what it took to get there.

Blessings to you and Poet on your birthday and beyond.

I attempted to leave a comment, but perhaps it didn't come through. The summation was this: I know how it feels to be given something that turns out to be everything and more than you ever hoped for.

Even though I am light years away from wanting a family, and further yet from being ready for one this is the most beautiful picture I have seen on this blog. Whatever the tale it appears to be of the fairy variety, and amid the chaos of college applications and government shutdowns you have reminded me of the joy that is waiting to be found.

You dropped off of my blog radar for a while and now I see so many big changes in your life on the hill. I look forward to the 'rest of the story' and more lovely photos and words from you. You must be thinking it is the best birthday ever with such a big bundle of joy on your lap! Happy Birthday.
